I was on the phone with my mom today and she was busy making food for some church group she's in. She said "Too bad you can't have any. I have to go. Bye!" Then, as I was eating some soggy french fries for dinner, I got an e-mail from my dad with no explanation and just these pictures. Then I realized I probably won't be living at home ever again and saw my future filled with microwavable starch. Life on the outside is rough

Real pictures of real food I really ate coming soon...

Some super fat rigatoni in a cream sauce made with Parmigiano Reggiano/Parmesean/same thing and peas + salmon and asparagus

Mostly been eating lots of hamburgers, yogurt, and turkey bacon. But I just spent an obscene amount of money at Trader Joe's so it's maybe there will be less burgers for the next few weeks...but also, probably not...hamburgers help ease my sense of impending doom. The end is nigh!

Kellie e Melissa hanno cucinato un lasagna
I didn't even have to use a translator for that. How do you like me now, ItaliaIdea? It's been a little over a year since we went to Rome!!! So there was lasagna and it was great. I miss Rome

Half way there
Note the baby cheese grater which I used to grate what I thought was an impressive amount of cheese

turkextravaganza

One of our two 18 lb turkeys from Thanksgiving. This one was brined vegetable broth, ginger, salt, pepper, maybe something else. The first time it sat in the brine, most of the 2 gallons of it spilled all over my apartment floor. The other one was brined in Guinness. Luckily, that one didn't spill.

Plate of glory: mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, yams, green beans, beets, other things, turkey obviously somewhere under all the other food. So many people, so much food, I don't think I even tried everything.

One of the 2 kinds of stuffing. I think this one was the apple pecan. The other was artichoke parmesean.

Then we lived off of turkey leftovers for the rest of the semester

NEW

Hey I am back. Don't cry. I've been really obsessed with grocery shopping.

Just a few of the many burgers I've eaten this semester. God bless America

Made some Bahn Mi with Neal.

Seared salmon in a lemon garlic sauce with lots of avocados and orzo

Garlic chicken sausage and some sauce I made (no jar!) with bacon

My roommate this year is a really good at baking and can make anything. I suggested putting bacon in cinnamon rolls and she made it happen. Layer of brown sugar, toasted walnuts, bacon, caramel sauce. Then there was a chocolate sauce that got drizzled on top of the baked rolls.

YEAH

She also made this kiwi tart

Some pals brought this to my studio. Pulled pork, mashed potatoes, baked beans
