I AM BACK + CELL FONE PIX (this is for you Neal Uno)

The reason why I am a flaky blogger is that I never remember to carry my camera because I hate carrying bags/purses and it won't fit in my pocket. But sometimes it's just too good to miss and I have to take some cell phone pictures. But I can't upload them onto my computer so these are pictures of cell phone pictures. This is how a lot of my posts will look from now on, I think.

Met snack time plus avocados:

Met burger + onion rings + avocados

Met hot dog + onions + avocados
I think that avocados are like bacon and they make everything taste better.

This is from a different day, different phone. Vegetable tempura from Spice.

BONUS NON CELL PHONE PICTURE
One day, Dylan and I ordered this pizza from Dominos and it was delivered so quickly and eaten so quickly on the floor of my small room.
Canadian bacon (or ham, don't remember) + pineapples + onions + bacon

I think there won't be any REAL posts until I go home this month. Too much to do and I don't eat anything that hasn't already been posted. I thought maybe I would do an homage to RISD Streetwalkers (http://risdstreetwalkers.blogspot.com/) and take pictures of other peoples' food but I'm only ever in the Met at weird hours everyone eats the same thing because there's no food. So I've resigned myself to only eating complex carbohydrates and looking at other better food blogs until I can go home and eat real food again.

Here is some food art for you to look at:

Also, I wanted to share this:

because it is what I want to eat the most right now. But please don't leave me for another blog with more posts because YOU (GUYS) ARE ALL I HAVE. I love you.

starving

I don't have pictures and I think it's because I haven't been eating anything good. I can't think of one really good thing I ate since spring break. And if I did, I just can't remember. WAIT actually, I did get this great sandwich from Dean and DeLuca, but I ate it on the bus. Maybe this Wednesday I'll skip class and go to Pakarang. That is all I have to say. Neal and I got caught stealing from the Met, but it wasn't really stealing as much as it was getting more food after we already paid. I hate that new curly haired Met lady. Go buy some more hair spray.

So good: for Joseph

So I stayed with Joey for a few days in New York and ate myself to death. Here is some proof:

I just realized I didn't take any pictures of garlic knots, which are these delicious knots of carbohydrate heaven in buttery cheesy goodness.

Here is a google image of them but way less buttery than they should be. God I miss them so much.

Then we went to the Carnegie Deli and shared this enormous delicious sandwich.

Plus some really great crinkle fries that were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, which is very difficult to do, by the way.

Two kinds of pickles, which made me realize that the gross pickles they have here (cucumbers in salty vinegar water) are actual pickles that people like. The one with a bite taken out of it is the kind I like.

A gyro plate/box. So good. This was right before we walked 90 blocks to Pomme Frites.

Then my camera ran out of batteries so I had to steal this picture from somebody's flickr. We got curry ketchup, rosemary garlic mayo, and mango chutney. I liked the mango the best because it wasn't too overwhelming, but by the time we got here 90 blocks of walking made me want to die and I couldn't eat very much.

For dinner we got Korea barbeque but it's an incredibly depressing story so it's good that I couldn't take pictures. It was still delicious though.

So the next morning, we went to Chinatown and got dimsum. God, can people walk any slower in Chinatown? It's was like my future was flashing before my eyes.

Too hungry, blurry pictures.

These were soooo good. I don't even remember what they were. Radishes or something. But they were so soft and melty and fried.

Heart-attack central

Then dessert, which was good, but could've been better. I got this weird gross melon pudding. Never again.

The greatest pizza I have ever had in my life ever. Sausage, mushrooms, and...something else, maybe. I don't know. It all sort of blends together into one giant slice of heaven.

Mango sushi, which was weird, but also really delicious

Tempura green tea ice cream

Then before I left, we went to the Shake Shack and got the greatest burgers ever. They just melt melt melt in your mouth like hamburger ice cream.

So beautiful I could cry

P.S. Two thumbs up to Joey who knows all the best places to eat

P.P.S Pre-New York food:

Garlic naan plus cheese, caramelized onions (again, Joseph) and green olives

More Geoff's, Juggs

The end

Dear friends,

I was going to upload some pictures today, but I'm going to NY this weekend so really what's the point if I'm just going to have a bunch more in a few days? Please be patient. In the meantime:

I'll be back soon.

this post is dedicated to my first real reader, laurel something, i'm sorry i don't know your last name

First of all, these are not the greatest pictures, but I was really hungry/excited to eat, so what can I say? It was a miracle that I was able to take pictures at all.

So I decided to go to Geoff's for the first time yesterday, and it was so good I wanted to cry, but also because it was $8. I went again today anyway and ordered the same thing, which was probably not the smart way to explore Geoff's but some of the sandwiches had weird names and I was too afraid to try and say them. Like foie gras, which is not a sandwich, but a food I would not order since I can't pronounce it. Or gnocchi, which I don't order because I can't pronounce it but also because I only have a vague understanding of what it is. But back to the sandwich, which is called a Doug White: genoa salami, ham, tomatoes, lettuce, green olives, red onions, which the man forgot to put on today, and tiger sauce, which is a horseradish mayo. I was nervous about it because I don't like horseradish, but it was really good and wasn't overwhelmingly radishy.

I had some leftover ground pork in the freezer from when my dad was here and made dumplings (which I can't find pictures of) so Gianna and I decided to make meatballs, but Jule doesn't eat pork so we also had turkey. This picture was actually by Dylan. We burned the bread.

The meatballs before being cooked. I still haven't figured out how to upload pictures in the right order. These were easy to make, I think. Gianna did all the hard stuff though, so I dont know. It was mostly breadcrumbs and eggs and olive oil.

Jule's friend, who is in culinary school, visited her and made this, which I ate. Mashed potatoes and garlic bread and stuffed peppers with rice and god, I dont even remember, it was so good.

That is all. I deleted my post with some of the things I made last semester, but if you want to see them, you can ask me, but it's not food.
